Do Safelists Help?
Most of you know what a safelist is, but for those who don't let me give you a little explanation first of what exactly a safelist is. A safelist is a place where many advertisers go to advertise. First and for most because it is low cost. The concept is that you click on other people's ads and earn credits to send your ads.
At times it works, at times it does not. It's the time vs money issue. Those who have a lot of money to spend on advertising can spend the money to send out an ad without every having to click for credits. Others simply go through clicking for credits never looking at the ads. It can be wasteful, but can also work out great.
When looking for a safelist her are some things to keep in mind. How many members are there. If there are 700 members of a safelist that is not very big, you probably don't want to waste your time, or if you do then don't expect a fast return. There are not a lot of eyes viewing your ad. You can also have too many members. Some safelists have so many members that there are people who do the solo ads I talked about. They pay $25-$50 to have their ad blasted to the whole entire safelist and everyone not only gets it they click on it because for a solo ad the safelist gives you a lot more credits than sending a regular mailer.
I myself have been using safelists for a while and when experimenting with them I learned some things. A mentor had told me you didn't want to spend any time in small safelists look for large ones, so I did. One that I used is called Free Safelist Mailer. I sent several mailers over months and when tracking the ads through link tracking found most of the time the ads were never even opened or clicked on....why? Because the safelist is so large that the safelist sends out solo ads multiple times a day, after all those marketers paid money to have their ad sent and those ads are given a lot more credits when you click on them. What probably happens in that situation is members of the safelist only click on solo ads and never or very rarely regular ads because they could build up enough points in a pretty short amount of time to send an ad themselves. The regular ads don't ever need to be look at!
Don't get down yet, I have had success in several safelists. I just try to find a happy medium. Not the biggest safelist out there, but not the smallest. For example List Joe click here a pretty popular safelist seems to have a lot of responsive members. I have enrolled several people into my business using their service and it's free. Yes I do have to click on ads to earn the credits but they don't send out thousands of ads a day, maybe 15-20.
So what do you do? Think of time vs money, which one do you have more of? If you don't have a lot of time safelists are not a way to go for you. It can be time consuming clicking for credits. But if you have time the time it is worth a shot. Some pretty good advertising for FREE. You can't beat that. You will find some recommended safelists listed on my blog.

Why Is The Streamline Concept So Important?
What do all those pictures mean? Sponsoring down instead of wide, And all of the perks that you have probably heard about. What do those mean to you??
I have some answers for you. Lets step back just a little for those of us like I was. I had never been in this type of industry before. In a typical network marketing company you would join and would be told Step 1 tell anyone and everyone you know that you found this great thing and they HAVE to join. You would go in and sponsor all of them yourself. Putting them all under you just like this.

Anyone who has been started a network marketing business or has been in a network marketing business for any amount of time knows the biggest problem most marketers run in to is generating quality mlm leads. A lot of marketers end up in the situation where they need to buy leads that a company has generated but most of these people find in most cases these are not always quality mlm leads. A lot of them have been sold to multiple people, they have filled out various forms on the internet looking for a job not a business or they are expecting if they were looking online for a business they don't want to talk with someone on the phone.
For most network marketers to have any kind of long term success they need to learn how to generate quality mlm leads on their own. How Important Is Lead Generation?
Anyone who has looked at attempted or is currently in a home based business or any type of internet business would probably agree that the most important thing to any business is having enough people to talk to.
Lead generation can be accomplished many different ways. Some people choose to buy leads whether they are new to the industry or even experienced. Some people feel it is important to always be talking to someone. I definitely agree that that is important. But I think one of the best things that can be taught in the industry is the craft of lead generation.
What do I mean by that? For some it's very simple. They are skilled marketers they know what it takes to drive traffic to their website or business opportunity. For others it's not that easy. It involves a lot research, trail and error, money and sometimes failure which I am sure you would agree, anyone in the internet marketing industry hates!
For many it involves changing the their way of thinking about their home based business. Many internet marketers feel as I said before that they need to be talking to prospects all the time. While it is important that you do speak with prospects in this internet impersonal world we market in, the most important thing you can do is talk with the RIGHT prospects. 80% of your time you have to spend on your home based business whether it's full time or part time should be spent generating leads and 20% of your time should be spent talking to them. Some internet marketers have it the other way around.
The reason that is so important is because you want to be talking to the RIGHT prospects. Many prospects may be thinking about a home based business but some tend to check out everything that comes along. Wouldn't it be better for you to submit an ad about your opportunity, a prospect see that ad and become intrigued and call YOU! It's much easier to weed through the tire kickers that way don't you think? Getting the right traffic to your site through your own lead generation is key to internet marketing success.

Perfect Time To Join The Direct Marketing Industry
Workers losing jobs in the economic downturn may be finding the door open to a new line of work.
Now is the perfect time to join the Direct Selling Industry:

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Workers losing jobs in the economic downturn may be finding the door open to a new line of work.
Direct sellers, companies that market products directly to consumers, say more people want to join their sales forces.
Connie Tang, president of beauty and skin care products marketer Jafra U.S.A, said recruiting seminars in 22 cities this month have been packed.
“Close to 1,000 people have already joined the Jafra network,” she said after a week on the road.
Although Tang wouldn’t disclose how many people have signed up with the company this year, she said the number of new consultants year-to-date “is trending above last year.” The company currently has about 80,000 consultants in the United States.
About 15 million Americans work in direct marketing, doing such things as going door to door or hosting product “parties,” according to the Direct Selling Association (DSA), an industry trade group.
DSA spokeswoman Amy Robinson said industry hiring, which declined 1.3% in 2007 and was weak in the first half of the year, has picked up in recent months - just as the full impact of the financial crisis started to be felt.
“This is what we’re hearing from several of our members,” she said.
Direct selling has a low start-up costs, typically between $100 to $200 for a starter kit.
According to DSA, the average yearly income from a direct selling job is $2,400, or about $200 a month.
“Direct selling isn’t a full-time job,” Robinson said. “It gives you extra money to go on vacation, get the refrigerator fixed or buy Christmas gifts. It’s about getting some extra money in the pocket.”
Jafra’s Tang agreed.
“People are losing their full-time jobs and need to get income quickly,” she said.
Also, with retailers expected to cut back on seasonal holiday hiring, those who count on a year-end retail job are now looking at direct sales, she said.
But what has surprised her the most was the sizable turnout she recently had at a college campus in Phoenix.
“I found out that many college students are dropping out and need a job because their parents don’t have the disposable income to pay tuition,” Tang said.
Then there’s Veronica Davis’ situation. Davis, 49, is a project manager with Electronic Data Systems in Detroit. She’s been with the company for 13 years.
Earlier this year, EDS was acquired by Hewlett-Packard (HPQ, Fortune 500). Davis is now uncertain about her job.
“If it came to a point where I had to leave the company, I want to be established doing something I’m interested in,” Davis said.
As a part-time Jafra sales associate for a month, she has already earned $500. Davis said she’ll use the money to partly pay for extra expenses and invest the rest back into her Jafra business.
Rich Razgaitis, president of direct seller Univera, Inc. (North America), is also on a 14-city road tour to recruit associates to sell the company’s nutritional supplements.
Razgaitis, whose company already has a sales force “of tens of thousands,” said new recruits this month are up 20% over the same month last year.
“This is a time when people want control over their own financial situation,” said Razgaitis, and direct selling provides the opportunity to secure a primary or secondary income at a time when “there’s so much uncertainty.”
According to Razgaitis, a Univera associate can earn between $300 to $500 a month part-time or up to $5,000 or more full-time.
Direct selling has worked out so well for George Briere after he lost his job in January that the 37-year-old former sales manager from Michigan said “his days of having a full-time job are over.”
“I got rid of my alarm clock eight months ago and I’m never going back,” he said.
Briere sells Shaklee’s line of nutritional products. Shaklee’s compensation structure allows Briere to earn 34% commission on his sales volume, an additional 7% performance bonus and $125 bonus for each additional person he recruits into the Shaklee network.
With an initial investment of just under $300 for his starter kit, he earned $600 in his first month and a few thousand dollars in total since then.
But most direct sellers don’t offer health and retirement plans. Does that worry Briere, since he’s made a full-time commitment to Shaklee?
Not really, he said. “I consider my residual income as a wonderful retirement plan,” he said

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Workers losing jobs in the economic downturn may be finding the door open to a new line of work.
Direct sellers, companies that market products directly to consumers, say more people want to join their sales forces.
Connie Tang, president of beauty and skin care products marketer Jafra U.S.A, said recruiting seminars in 22 cities this month have been packed.
“Close to 1,000 people have already joined the Jafra network,” she said after a week on the road.
Although Tang wouldn’t disclose how many people have signed up with the company this year, she said the number of new consultants year-to-date “is trending above last year.” The company currently has about 80,000 consultants in the United States.
About 15 million Americans work in direct marketing, doing such things as going door to door or hosting product “parties,” according to the Direct Selling Association (DSA), an industry trade group.
DSA spokeswoman Amy Robinson said industry hiring, which declined 1.3% in 2007 and was weak in the first half of the year, has picked up in recent months - just as the full impact of the financial crisis started to be felt.
“This is what we’re hearing from several of our members,” she said.
Direct selling has a low start-up costs, typically between $100 to $200 for a starter kit.
According to DSA, the average yearly income from a direct selling job is $2,400, or about $200 a month.
“Direct selling isn’t a full-time job,” Robinson said. “It gives you extra money to go on vacation, get the refrigerator fixed or buy Christmas gifts. It’s about getting some extra money in the pocket.”
Jafra’s Tang agreed.
“People are losing their full-time jobs and need to get income quickly,” she said.
Also, with retailers expected to cut back on seasonal holiday hiring, those who count on a year-end retail job are now looking at direct sales, she said.
But what has surprised her the most was the sizable turnout she recently had at a college campus in Phoenix.
“I found out that many college students are dropping out and need a job because their parents don’t have the disposable income to pay tuition,” Tang said.
Then there’s Veronica Davis’ situation. Davis, 49, is a project manager with Electronic Data Systems in Detroit. She’s been with the company for 13 years.
Earlier this year, EDS was acquired by Hewlett-Packard (HPQ, Fortune 500). Davis is now uncertain about her job.
“If it came to a point where I had to leave the company, I want to be established doing something I’m interested in,” Davis said.
As a part-time Jafra sales associate for a month, she has already earned $500. Davis said she’ll use the money to partly pay for extra expenses and invest the rest back into her Jafra business.
Rich Razgaitis, president of direct seller Univera, Inc. (North America), is also on a 14-city road tour to recruit associates to sell the company’s nutritional supplements.
Razgaitis, whose company already has a sales force “of tens of thousands,” said new recruits this month are up 20% over the same month last year.
“This is a time when people want control over their own financial situation,” said Razgaitis, and direct selling provides the opportunity to secure a primary or secondary income at a time when “there’s so much uncertainty.”
According to Razgaitis, a Univera associate can earn between $300 to $500 a month part-time or up to $5,000 or more full-time.

The Importance Of A Home Business For Everyone
My name is Karen Pore and I have been working at home for about a year now and enjoying it tremendously! In the state our economy is in at this time there has never been a more important time to have a home business. There are layoffs around every corner and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I came to a point in my life at 30 years old that I realized what my parent's and my grandparent's had done could no longer suffice in the world we live in.
I have grandparent's and great grand parents who had and continue to work well past the point they physically should. I watched my great grandpa work his entire life, from 13 years old on for his family and for his retirement only t come to a point after being retired for over 20 years from Texaco to loose everything. All of his retirement because they filed for reorganization.
My grandmother still works at a grocery store to make ends meat. Now my mother is at the point where she should retire and that is not possible.....Why do I tell you all this? Residual income has NEVER been more important than it is now. Why would I not spend my time building a business that would not have me retire in 40 years on 40% of my salary? Will my needs go down at that age? I don't think so!
I also enjoy the time I get to spend with my children. Knowing that I can walk away for a month to enjoy a vacation and know that money is still going to be coming in. Not many of us have millions of dollars in the bank we can collect interest off of. That is the only other way to secure you future.....so network marketing is my future.
