You have probably heard all of the stories about making money online. The news is filled with stories of those lucky folks who have become multi-millionaires with a few clicks of those mouse and still more stories about people using the internet to develop a sustained and viable business. Can it happen for you? If you’ve have been thinking about making money online, here are some tricks of the trade that can help you get started on your path to internet business glory.
When it comes to online businesses, there is a lot of bad information out there you have to sift through and a lot of potential for falling victim to a scam. Many websites advertise internet business opportunities that require a sizeable upfront investment from you, and these are generally to be avoided. Beware any online business opportunity that sets you up to spam people for pay or that requires you to make a website to try to get people to buy into a business scheme rather than buying a specific product. These internet set ups are just pyramid scams, and they’re not a reliable (or in some cases, legal) way to make money online.
One of the best ways to learn about making money online is to check out the advice of people who have done it. Do a little research and see how some online businesses you’re familiar with have set up their operations, or seek out some online business journals that have interviews with internet entrepreneurs. See what you can learn from them and from their mistakes. If you know anyone who does business online, see what advice they have to offer you. Since so many people have figured out this online business thing by trial and error at this point, you can learn from their stories what they learned the hard way and avoid some of the same bumps in the world.
Apart from understanding the technological aspects of doing business online and figuring out some unique logistics, like shipping to all of your customers instead of having a store if you’re selling a product, online advertising, and the ins and outs of online writing, some parts of online commerce are not so different from starting a business in the real world. You should settle on a business that interests you and that you have some specific skills to bring to the table. Instead of chasing the “next big thing” (these kinds of ideas go boom and then bust all the time on the net), look for a business idea that you will enjoy working on and that can bring you long term sustainability. Do research into your market, figure out your overhead costs and figure out who your competitors will be. These things will all give you the best chance at succeeding in the internet business world.

Hype or Offering Value - How Should You Build Your Network Marketing Opportunity?

MLM is famous for over-promising and under-delivering. One thing's for sure: there is a lot of hype in Network Marketing.
Unfortunately, all the hype out there creates false hope and expectations, which contribute to the negative image many people have of the network marketing and home based business industry.
If you are new to Network Marketing (or even if you've been in the industry for awhile), you may be tempted to contribute to all the hype out there. After all, if other people are doing it, it must work, right? It may work sometimes, usually in the short term, but something that will work far more effectively is adding true value to prospects.
People who attract customers and business partners with hype generally don't attract people who stay very long. On the other hand, Network Marketers who attract people by providing valuable information, no strings attached, are likely to attract higher quality prospects and customers. Higher quality prospects and customers will inevitably lead to a more successful business.
Here are a few tips to help you make sure you're adding value to the Network Marketing industry rather than flooding it with hype.
Put Yourself in Your Prospect's Shoes. If you were the prospect, what would you think about the presentation you are giving, the ad you are placing, or the forum post or article you are writing? Would it sound like a sales pitch to you? If so, go back to the drawing board. Find a way to present your information without giving a sales pitch. You'll be surprised at the results you get when people don't feel like your only motive is to get them to buy something from you!
Have Integrity. If you value your integrity, you will be adding value instead of hype. You will conduct business in an ethical and honest way. Always remember that no sale or new business partner is worth ruining your reputation. People appreciate honesty, and when you show you are a person of integrity, people will want to do business with you.
Teach Others. Many people enter the Network Marketing arena with no background in business or marketing. When they see what other people are doing, they naturally join in. They don't know any other way. When you teach others a better way--that they will be more successful in Network Marketing when they add value rather than hype, they will follow suit.

Do Safelists Help?
Most of you know what a safelist is, but for those who don't let me give you a little explanation first of what exactly a safelist is. A safelist is a place where many advertisers go to advertise. First and for most because it is low cost. The concept is that you click on other people's ads and earn credits to send your ads.
At times it works, at times it does not. It's the time vs money issue. Those who have a lot of money to spend on advertising can spend the money to send out an ad without every having to click for credits. Others simply go through clicking for credits never looking at the ads. It can be wasteful, but can also work out great.
When looking for a safelist her are some things to keep in mind. How many members are there. If there are 700 members of a safelist that is not very big, you probably don't want to waste your time, or if you do then don't expect a fast return. There are not a lot of eyes viewing your ad. You can also have too many members. Some safelists have so many members that there are people who do the solo ads I talked about. They pay $25-$50 to have their ad blasted to the whole entire safelist and everyone not only gets it they click on it because for a solo ad the safelist gives you a lot more credits than sending a regular mailer.
I myself have been using safelists for a while and when experimenting with them I learned some things. A mentor had told me you didn't want to spend any time in small safelists look for large ones, so I did. One that I used is called Free Safelist Mailer. I sent several mailers over months and when tracking the ads through link tracking found most of the time the ads were never even opened or clicked on....why? Because the safelist is so large that the safelist sends out solo ads multiple times a day, after all those marketers paid money to have their ad sent and those ads are given a lot more credits when you click on them. What probably happens in that situation is members of the safelist only click on solo ads and never or very rarely regular ads because they could build up enough points in a pretty short amount of time to send an ad themselves. The regular ads don't ever need to be look at!
Don't get down yet, I have had success in several safelists. I just try to find a happy medium. Not the biggest safelist out there, but not the smallest. For example List Joe click here a pretty popular safelist seems to have a lot of responsive members. I have enrolled several people into my business using their service and it's free. Yes I do have to click on ads to earn the credits but they don't send out thousands of ads a day, maybe 15-20.
So what do you do? Think of time vs money, which one do you have more of? If you don't have a lot of time safelists are not a way to go for you. It can be time consuming clicking for credits. But if you have time the time it is worth a shot. Some pretty good advertising for FREE. You can't beat that. You will find some recommended safelists listed on my blog.

Why Is The Streamline Concept So Important?
What do all those pictures mean? Sponsoring down instead of wide, And all of the perks that you have probably heard about. What do those mean to you??
I have some answers for you. Lets step back just a little for those of us like I was. I had never been in this type of industry before. In a typical network marketing company you would join and would be told Step 1 tell anyone and everyone you know that you found this great thing and they HAVE to join. You would go in and sponsor all of them yourself. Putting them all under you just like this.
